We encourage every child and adult to dress up but would like to be very clear, there is no expectation to spend huge sums of money on a costume.
We encourage children to use costumes they have at home, borrow something or make something (and if in doubt, come in home clothes as a ‘child who reads’ or in their PJs)!
Some ideas for cheap and easy costumes are:
- David Walliams’ Midnight Gang School uniform
- Child from Matilda’s class Dressed in adult clothes
- librarian or teacher Own clothes – a child who likes books!
