Equality
Equality at St Joseph’s

At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that the Equality Act provides a strong framework to support our commitment to valuing diversity, challenging discrimination, promoting equality and nurturing positive relationships within our school family and the wider community.
Guided by our mission statement, “Growing together with Jesus in our hearts, heads and hands,” we are dedicated to ensuring that every member of our community is treated with dignity, fairness and respect. We recognise and celebrate the unique gifts of each individual and understand that diversity enriches and strengthens our school.
Living out our mission means:
- Hearts – showing kindness, compassion and understanding towards others.
- Heads – developing knowledge, awareness and respect for difference.
- Hands – putting our faith into action by standing up against discrimination and supporting one another.
This commitment applies to St Joseph’s as both a place of education and an employer. Prejudice, discrimination and victimisation are not tolerated. We actively promote inclusion, acceptance and equality so that every child and adult can flourish.
Our Equality Policy sets out how St Joseph’s promotes equality of opportunity for all. It is approved by the Governing Body in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team and is written in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. The policy underpins all other school policies and reflects our Catholic ethos and mission.
