Mission in Action
Our School Mission: We are growing together with Jesus in our hearts, heads and hands.
At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary, Bracknell, we live our mission through faith and community. Our children are encouraged to reflect, wonder and put our values into action in their own lives. We are proud of their achievements, both in school and in competitions locally and beyond.

Our children lead prayer and worship across the school.
Monday: Whole School Celebration of the Word

Wednesday: Whole School Celebration of the Word
Thursday: Class Worship

Religion Lessons
In RE lessons, the Y5 children have been discussing how the gift of tongues allows the Universal Church to grow. The children added a country and the languages they spoke onto a map. They reflected on how wonderful it is that the Word of God can be spread around the world as a result of this gift.
CST
In the Autumn Term, Year 6 and Year 1 worked together on a Homeless Winter Survival Bags project. After learning about the struggles faced by homeless people in winter, Year 6 invited Year 1 to join them in collecting coats, hats, gloves, warm clothing and toiletries.
Chaplaincy Group
Last term, our Chaplaincy group put their faith into action by helping at our parish church, checking and refreshing the Pew Packs used at weekend Masses. They also created thoughtful ‘take a break’ thank-you cards with tea bags for all staff.
Faith Ambassadors
Our Faith Ambassadors fixing, planting and painting our outside prayer space.
Christmas
In December, we welcomed our Parish Priest, parishioners of St Joseph’s, residents from the local care home, and the town Mayor to our carol service. A highlight of the evening was a Year 5 pupil receiving a prize for her Christmas card design – a proud moment for our whole community.
Pride of Bracknell Forest Eco Competition
In May, our children took part in the Pride of Bracknell Forest Eco Competition, creating posters to promote recycling, eco-friendly living, and care for God’s Creation. They were inspired to become community eco-warriors after a visit from the Mayor of Bracknell.
Walk of Faith
During Lent, we raised almost £1,000 for CAFOD with a sponsored Walk of Faith around the school. Our Faith Ambassadors and Chaplaincy Monitors led seven creative prayer stations across the grounds, helping children, staff and governors to deepen their relationship with God.
A National Win for St. Joseph's
In March 2024, six Year 5 pupils began an amazing journey that led them to the finals of a national game design competition, held at Amazon Web Services in London. Using PurpleMash, the team designed a game based on the theme Around the World, giving up their lunchtimes to plan, design graphics, create sound effects and prepare their presentation.
In May 2025, they proudly presented their work to a panel of industry experts from Amazon, BAFTA and 2Simple. The judges were particularly impressed by their teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills.
We are incredibly proud of their dedication, commitment and success – giving up their own time and showing what can be achieved through hard work and collaboration.
From the children themselves:
-
“We spent all our lunch times working for this very moment.” – Joshua
-
“Success is an iceberg – you only see the top, not all the hard work underneath.” – Julia
